Friday Linkys

Happy Friday!  Thank you to Doodle Bugs Teaching for hosting the Five for Friday linky party!

We had the day off on Monday, so Tuesday my class celebrated President's Day by making these cute Abe Lincolns.

The kids wrote about what they would do if they were president. I LOVE their responses!

I would go in the pool and order Chinese.

"I would play plants vs zombies."

I would stand up for my country.

This craftivity is available in my TPT store.

My sister and I went shopping after school today.  It was relaxing shopping without a preschooler and toddler!  (And it has been a while since that has happened!) I am excited about this necklace I bought at J Crew Factory. Did you know that you can get a discount by showing your teacher ID there?!

I am pretty excited to be a part of the Facebook Free For All again this month. Thank you to Primary Gal for putting together this awesome opportunity to score lots of freebies! Visit and like my Facebook to get a free St. Patrick's Day literacy station. Then visit Primary Gal's Facebook to link to many other freebies!

We have been learning about money. My class loves this video! Everyone knows their coins and their value!

Five for Friday President's Day Weekend

Oh boy, this was a long week! It was the first five day week of school since the beginning of December. Between actually going to school for five days, the full moon, and Valentine's Day, I am exhausted!  But, it was good to be back without snow days and delays- I actually got everything done!
We wrote about what we love on Valentine's Day.
A lot of kids love their cats!
I thought this one was so sweet!

We are in the middle of the weather unit. This week we learned all about clouds. After reading Eric Carle's Little Cloud, we made our own little clouds. I squeezed white paint on a piece of blue construction paper. The kids folded it in half and rubbed the outside of the paper. When they opened it up, they had a cloud!

We have the day off on Monday for President's Day, so my class will be celebrating President's Day on Tuesday. We will make my new Honest Abe craftivity.

It's available now in my TPT store.
Growing up, I remember my mom and grandma having a contest each year to see who would see the first robin. My grandma is no longer with us, but my mom and I carry on the tradition! I saw the first robin today! That must mean that spring is around the corner!
There may be robins, but I'm still in winter mode!
Winter Snow Literacy Stations

My Winter Snow Literacy Stations will be 50% off until Tuesday morning.

Thank you to Doodle Bugs Teaching for hosting the Five for Friday linky party each week!

Five for Friday and Facebook Free for All and another Freebie!

We had two 2-hour delays this week due to extreme cold! The kids arrive to school and less than an hour later they're at lunch. So much for getting anything done! Not to mention how wild they are from the routine being all crazy. Unfortunately, next week doesn't look much warmer....

I have had so many requests for a template for my 100 Day Cupcakes. It is available in my 100 Days Smarter packet on TPT. But, for this weekend only, it's free (just the cupcake template) if you click here.

I'm linking up with Primary Gal for her Friday Free for All.

My house smells delicious! I am baking these flourless brownies. I'm not telling my husband about the secret ingredient of black beans!  He will most likely enjoy them until he finds out they contain beans!

I am pretty excited to be a part of a Facebook  Free for All. Like my Facebook page to snag a free copy of my Wacky Hat Word Family sort with short vowels. I plan to use it during literacy stations to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday.

Speaking of freebies, visit Primary Gal's facebook page to get lots of freebies for every grade level during the weekend-long Facebook Free-for-Al1!

Our classroom elf made an appearance on Monday, an hour before my evaluation by the principal. The kids were very well behaved during my evaluation, despite the excitement of meeting Snowbell!

They come into the classroom all excited to see where she will be hanging out each day!

We made elves using my new Classroom Elf Craftivity. They had so much fun creating their elf and writing about it!

We went to visit Santa on Wednesday. Olivia didn't want to go to Santa, so we all ended up in the picture! Isabella was starstruck!

Our town had a holiday night on Friday. Even though it was painfully cold, we went downtown to enjoy treats from the restaurants along the main road. At the park, an ice sculptor worked on an ice creation, and little trains gave people rides up and down the street!

My grandma made this Christmas calendar for me when I was little. My mom always hung it up for my sisters and me to use. It's a part of my Christmas traditions! My girls love moving the bear each day on his journey to find Christmas.

In addition to the Five for Friday Linky, I'm linking with with Seusstastic Classroom for the Elf on the Shelf Linky party.
