I just uploaded a product that I am pretty excited about!
Some of my kiddos are struggling with sorting words into their word families. I created this activity I plan to use during Read Across America Week.
Students will read and sort the cards onto the cats in hats on the sorting mat. They can record their sorting on the worksheet. To extend the activity for the fast finishers, I will have those students think of more words that would fit into the word families. I can give them note cards or another record sheet to write their new words.

Five for Friday and Facebook Free for All and another Freebie!
I have had so many requests for a template for my 100 Day Cupcakes. It is available in my 100 Days Smarter packet on TPT. But, for this weekend only, it's free (just the cupcake template) if you click here.
I'm linking up with Primary Gal for her Friday Free for All.
My house smells delicious! I am baking these flourless brownies. I'm not telling my husband about the secret ingredient of black beans! He will most likely enjoy them until he finds out they contain beans!
I am pretty excited to be a part of a Facebook Free for All. Like my Facebook page to snag a free copy of my Wacky Hat Word Family sort with short vowels. I plan to use it during literacy stations to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday.
Speaking of freebies, visit Primary Gal's facebook page to get lots of freebies for every grade level during the weekend-long Facebook Free-for-Al1!

100 Days Smarter!
Well, our 100th day of school has changed several times with all the snow days we had when we tried to come back from Christmas break! Providing that the lake effect snow we're getting now doesn't change anything, 100th day will be February 4th. I am excited about my new TPT product- everything I need for our 100th Day celebration! Pictures of our costumes and collections will follow! :-)

I Dream Of...
We celebrated MLK day on Thursday. We read lots of books about Martin Luther King, Jr. and
talked about his dream for America. Then we made handprint doves and the kiddos finished a writing prompt about their dreams.
Click here for a copy of the writing prompt. Visit Primary Gal for more freebies with the Friday Free For All Linky Party.

4. January Currently Linky Party
5. My best friends were home over Christmas. It's rare that we are all in town at the same time. (I live in the town where we grew up, while they live in Georgia and Colorado.) We spent a day wedding gown shopping for Lauren! (From left to right- Lauren the bride, Samantha the bridesmaid, Casha the maid of honor, me- a bridesmaid!)
